I have setup a new Windows 2012 std. server with HyperV. The HyperV OS is also windows 2012 std. and is the terminal server. Users simply need to remote into the terminal server to run office apps and an industry specific program. Users are able to remote in and use it, but something about the roles and features and/or licensing isn't working properly. I have user cals and set to per user.
But, the RDS tools I would expect to see after adding the role aren't there and the licensing diagnostic tool keeps telling me the licensing server can't be found and that it's in the grace period. Originally, I added the Remote Desktop Licensing role to the physical/host server, then added the Remote Desktop Session Host role to the HyperV OS. That's when I started getting the licensing warnings. So, I added the RDLicensing role to HyperV OS --same results; added RD Connection Broker to HyperV OS --same results.
Your insight is much appreciated.
